Meet Lisa

As a clinic manager, I witnessed person after person leaving from or returning to acupuncture treatments with improvement not only in their physical condition but in their affect and emotional presence, or I listened to them explain that they gained insight and felt empowered to do more every day; this was my inspiration for pursuing this career.
I have personally benefited tremendously from using Oriental medicine for autoimmune symptoms, detoxification, and emotional wellbeing. The personal commitment to incorporating raw herbal formulas, tweaks to my diet, weekly acupuncture, and moderate exercise brought the laughter back to my voice and the spring to my step. You will most definitely glimpse my green smoothie or steeping herb tea at the front desk or see my workout gear or my bike when you come for your acupuncture treatment. I love what I do, I love doing it, I love the process and I love the results!
Lisa combines her experience in psychology, arts, therapeutics and oriental medicine into her practice. Her background in art therapy, depth psychology, and counseling provide the framework for her practice. Lisa treats the physical as well as the emotional body melding theories of Five Element acupuncture, alchemical acupuncture, and psychology with traditional Chinese medicine theory. Her practice is concentrated in emotional concerns; depression; anxiety; insomnia; stress; fatigue; fertility; menstrual & hormone imbalance; autoimmune imbalances; respiratory, dietary and gastro-intestinal issues; and musculoskeletal & orthopedic disorders.
Lisa created Surfacing Wellness & Health in 2005 in Chicago. She educates the community, clients and students on TCM basics, wellness, preventative medicine, relaxation, nutrition, and gluten-free baking.
You will find her biking throughout city and suburbs and anywhere she travels. Lisa expresses her creativity through the arts and culinary pursuits.
